Bombs explode at three Capital schools; scare in many others

Bombs have gone off at three schools in Capital while explosive and suspicious objects have been recovered from many others on Tuesday morning. No human casualties have been reported from the explosions.

Kathmandu police chief SP Bikram Singh Thapa informed cylinder bombs exploded at Akash Deep Boarding School and Manakamana Higher Secondary School in Dakshindhoka of Gokarneshwor Municipality, Kathmandu, at around 3:45 this morning. Another bomb went off at Kanchanjunga Integrated English School in Dallu.

Suspicious items have been recovered from various schools in Gokarneshwor Municipality. The objects were recovered from Rai English School, Mount Yubaral Teaching Academy and East Pole School in Narayanthan, Jorpati. Pamphlets of Akhil Nepal Rastriya Swatantra Bidhyarthi Kendra and Young Communist Force Center Central Committee were recovered from the gate of East Pole School.

A pressure cooker bomb was found at Bal Sansar Academy in Gokarneshwor-14 while suspicious object was found at Lama Petrol Pump in Gokarneshwor-15. Another pressure cooker bomb packed with 400 gram explosive was found at Radiant School in Sanepa, Lalitpur.

Nepal Army bomb disposal teams have been mobilised in the sites to diffuse to bomb.

Police, meanwhile, has arrested two suspicious persons. Due to ongoing investigation, police has not divulged any information about the arrestees.
